The challenges in the Nepalese educational sector have been continuously evolving.
Initially, it was the unavailability of proper infrastructure in schools, and now it’s the lack of quality education in those schools. Outdated teaching-learning practices, a minimum emphasis on life skills, and limited access to technology in our schools are hindering students from adapting effectively to real-world challenges and opportunities.
Peace for People focuses on sustainable solutions addressing the root causes of rural Nepal’s social and economic challenges. Through partnerships and targeted interventions, we empower communities for positive change and holistic development.
P4P advocates for play-based learning as a more effective and enjoyable approach than traditional rote-learning methods.
P4P actively involves local communities in educational initiatives, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility.
P4P works to improve teaching methodologies and curriculum development to ensure quality education.

P4P prioritizes creating safe and inclusive learning environments, free from harm, violence, and discrimination.
At Peace for People, we address the evolving challenges within the Nepalese educational sector. In the initial days, we primarily worked on the infrastructure development of schools, scholarships for students, and the distribution of educational materials.
As time changed, our focus broadened. While we continue to prioritize our initial efforts, we have expanded our scope to ensure holistic and high-quality education for all.
To tackle the challenges of conventional theory-based education and recognize the increasing significance of essential life skills, technology access, and global exposure, we have undertaken a mission to transform the teaching-learning paradigm in Nepal.
We understand that without proper school infrastructure, the goal of quality education cannot be achieved. So, Peace for People has taken significant steps to improve education by constructing school buildings in the Dhading and Kavre districts.
Shree Janata Primary School in Dhading was badly damaged during the 2015 earthquake. But now, it has a new semi-concrete building with 7 classrooms and 1 kitchen room.
Shree Bhumesthan Primary School in Kavre was in completely worn-out condition, with just a roof above it. Now, it has been transformed into a semi-concrete building that has 3 classrooms.
These schools are now better places for learning!
We offer a Scholarship Program to financially support deserving students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This program, spanning from lower secondary to bachelor levels, provides educational materials for one to four academic years.
We have supported scholarship grants to 511 school-level students from 13 schools across 5 different districts and 37 college and university-level students in Nepal
In communities where educational resources are scarce, parents struggle to afford even the most basic materials needed to send their children to school. As a result, children’s education often takes a back seat, leading to a high dropout rate in local schools.
To address this, we annually distribute essentials like school uniforms, bags, shoes, copies, geometry boxes, calculators, water bottles, etc. to the students.
So far, 2678 School Supplies have been distributed by P4P in 29 schools located in 9 districts.
For parents, we conduct informative sessions on the importance of education, the role of parents in a child’s holistic development, and fostering collaboration between parents and schools.
And for teachers, we conduct workshops and training sessions focus on communication skills, innovative teaching methods, digital education, and practical learning.
Our Global Classroom initiative exposes students to diverse perspectives and cultures, fostering global awareness and understanding. Through virtual video calls, students interact with peers from around the world, engaging in interactive activities and broadening their horizons.
Along with that, recognizing the importance of physical activity in education, we promote physical education in rural schools. We organize various sports training programs, provide necessary materials, and encourage students to take part in various competitions.
We aim to make education more engaging and enjoyable for students, reducing their reluctance to attend school.
Peace for People visions to develop an environment in which communities in Nepal are ensured their right to quality education, and equal opportunities in socio-economic sectors leading to active citizenship and productive and prosperous society.
