The environment we live in is one of the most integral parts of our lives, yet it has been most neglected in recent days. The increasing temperature, deforestation, landslides, pollution, unusual climate change, etc. are the symptoms of our depleting environment. Those symptoms are alarming us, and we need to take immediate action to address this problem.
At Peace for People, we prioritize environmental conservation through education, community engagement, and advocacy. Our approach emphasizes:
Increasing understanding of environmental issues through workshops and campaigns.
Engaging residents in clean-up drives, tree planting, and habitat restoration projects.
Collaborating with stakeholders to advocate for evidence-based policies promoting environmental sustainability.
We have been organizing educational workshops targeting students to engage them in sustainable practice and foster a sense of responsibility towards environmental conservation.
This workshop was led by Ms. Pratima Khadgi, an Environment Science student at CDES at Tribhuvan University. In this workshop, she taught the students of Simle Mahakali Campus, Dhading, about the science behind climate change and its global impact. The students were engaged in activities that promote sustainable living and inspired to take climate action in their community.
This training program was organized for students of Thankot, Kathmandu, to equip them with the knowledge of proper waste management through segregation. They learned the importance of recycling and composting, and how these practices can significantly reduce the environmental footprint of their communities.
In the coming days, we aim to organize initiatives like community clean-up drives, and tree plantation campaigns and collaborate with experts to advocate for and promote stronger environmental protection actions.
Through these, we hope to inspire a wave of change that leads to a greener, more sustainable world for generations to come.
Peace for People visions to develop an environment in which communities in Nepal are ensured their right to quality education, and equal opportunities in socio-economic sectors leading to active citizenship and productive and prosperous society.
